Read about my first ever experience at a "dance." Also, get a glimpse into the preparation, process, and outcome of the experience and see how it turned out to be a magical night.

Hello Loves!! It has been... well... A LONG time since I last posted. I would go into the details, but I explained my absence in my recent YouTube Video. So if you are interested in to what happened over these last few months, please go watch the video.
Brilliant! Now that we have that out of the way, I am now here to share my recent experience at my first "dance". Let's begin with the simple fact that I have never attended a dance, and yes, that includes prom. For me, prom was L A M E, but that was because prom for my high school was not the traditional prom. Now I wouldn't say that any prom is like Sixteen Candles, but I had my expectations. In my mind, I was not down to pay $75 just for a ticket to be surrounded by people who I did not care for, or to sit and listen to bad music and watch girls twerk on others... it was just not my idea of fun. Instead I spent prom cuddled up with my lover as we watched movies, and honestly, I would not go back and change it. Nonetheless, now that I am out of high school and in with the big kids attending one of the highest ranking private universities, the idea of a Gala had me sold.
I immediately bought tickets for myself and my good friend, Jacqueline, then began preparing for the magical night. My first plan of action was asking Jacqueline to the Gala, in-which I went the cheesy, prom-posal route. Kneeling on one knee outside Jacqueline's dorm with chocolates and a facemask, I held a sign that said, "Let's have a Gala's Night, Thursday February 21st! P.S. You better say yes because I already purchased the tickets." Jacqueline, of course, cried and said yes! We then spent the next few days looking for our dresses, in which we ended up finding both at JC Penny.
The day of the Gala was spent in my room preparing for the night to come. Spending over three hours getting ready, Jacqueline and I completed our hair and makeup to a T, causing us to lose our chance at any daylight for photos. Nonetheless, we came up with the brilliant idea of taking Ariana Grande inspired photos, which in the end worked out perfectly!

Arriving over an hour late, we joined my roommate, Maddi, and her lover to feasted on the dinner prepared and listened to several speeches, which was an unexpected surprise. Much of the time was spend eating cake, sipping on coffee, and talking with others. There ended up being no time for a set dance, but for more photos to capture the memories and laughs of the night. All-in-all, the Gala was a beautiful event that left Jacqueline and I dead on the couch bing watching rom-coms for the rest of the night.
